Mission and Service

While our Nurture Ministries focus upon families and congregants of the church, our Mission work seeks to address the physical and spiritual needs of the larger world in the name of Jesus Christ. In that capacity, we either support or host a myriad of local, national and international projects. Some of them are: 12-Step groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcots Anonymous; the MCREST ministry to homeless individuals; a Medical Equipment Loan Closet, Feed the Bay, Prison Ministry, Red Cross Blood Drive, Vets Returning Home, Salvation Army, Hands4Detroit, Imagine No Malaria, Habitat for Humanity, NOMADS volunteer labor; and many others. In recognition of our exemplary record in mission, Grace has been designated a Spotlight Church by the Detroit Annual Conference of the UMC.

 Summer Food Boxes

We are currently collecting food for the Feed the Bay summer food boxes program. In the hallway leading to the sanctuary, there is a bulletin board that contains slips of papers that indicate the type of food that you may donate. Take these slips of paper, buy the food, and bring it back to the church so we can put the boxes together. Thanks for thinking of the families during the summer months!

Summer Food Box Program

In the hallway leading to the sanctuary, you will find a bulletin board that has slips of paper with food items listed. Please take as many of these slips as you would like to donate, purchase the food and bring it back here to church. This will help families provide meals for their families during the summer months.
