Mission and Service

While our Nurture Ministries focus upon families and congregants of the church, our Mission work seeks to address the physical and spiritual needs of the larger world in the name of Jesus Christ. In that capacity, we either support or host a myriad of local, national and international projects. Some of them are: 12-Step groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcots Anonymous; the MCREST ministry to homeless individuals; a Medical Equipment Loan Closet, Feed the Bay, Prison Ministry, Red Cross Blood Drive, Vets Returning Home, Salvation Army, Hands4Detroit, Imagine No Malaria, Habitat for Humanity, NOMADS volunteer labor; and many others. In recognition of our exemplary record in mission, Grace has been designated a Spotlight Church by the Detroit Annual Conference of the UMC.

This December, we will be collecting items in support of two missions.  As in the past, we will collect new blankets and stuffed animals for the NBPD and this year we will add toiletries for the boys in the Methodist Children’s home in Redford.  Details and a list of items needed will be forthcoming.  We also will continue our tradition of Christmas Baskets and Food for families through our neighbor, Lottie Schmidt Elementary.
